Annoyances

I had another doctor's appointment this morning, and there's still not much to report. Not much is going on in there. The doc did say that the baby's head is getting lower, but there's not much in the way of dilation. It is getting so uncomfortable having to sit in an office chair all day long. I'm ready for this baby to make his appearance! I need to work on my patience, but it's so hard when things are getting this uncomfy!

In the last two days I've gotten two of those stupid emails that tell you that if you don't pass it along to ten other people then some form of bad luck will befall you. I find these emails to be really annoying, and I just don't fall for them. Generally, the only times I pass emails on anymore is if they're extremely funny or, sometimes, very sentimental. These good luck/bad luck emails are just silly to me, and I don't buy into them.

Updates

We bought a new (new to us, anyway) car this weekend. We went to Car Max and traded in our cute, little green 2000 Honda Civic for a cute, slightly larger silver 2003 Toyota Rav 4. Yes, Josh has turned to the Dark Side, as he puts it. The man who swore he'd never buy an SUV and was constantly deriding those who do buy SUVs has purchased what? An SUV! Sometimes you just have to laugh at the turns life takes. At least we have four doors now (actually, it's more like five because the back opens sideways rather than up), which will make getting the baby in and out a bit easier than it would have been with the Civic's two doors.

And speaking of babies.......

After coming home from CarMax, Josh called his dad to tell him all about the new car. He left a message since his dad wasn't in. We didn't hear from him until yesterday morning, at which point we were informed that Heather, his girlfriend, gave birth to their son at 11:59 Saturday night, which is why they weren't in when Josh called. So Josh and his brother Ben now have a baby half-brother named Nicholas Jonathan Cook, born about five weeks early but doing very well.

And soon the Cook family tree will have another little branch. I have my next doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we'll see how much progress our Baby Cook has made since last week.

And So It Begins

I had a doctor's appointment today at which the internal exams began, and I am apparently already beginning to dilate, and the baby is head-down. The day is getting closer!

Remembering Pope John Paul II

Here is a short biography of the man I am grateful to have had as the head of my church. What an accomplished life!

Please pray for him and for the Cardinals as they now get ready to convene and nominate a new head of the Catholic church.
